‘Egg-cellent’ Egg Decorating
We had a variety of creative eggs decorated for the Daffodil Tea in room 6 from Mario and minions to princess sparkle pony. Here are some pictures of them. We think we did a cracking job
World of Work Week
Room 6 and Room 2 had a busy week last week for our Skills for learning, life and work week. We enjoyed taking part in stem activities, learning about washing our hands and learning about money to name a few activities. We loved meeting our special visitors from the emergency services and we even got the chance to go in the fire engine. What a treat!
We have been lucky enough to participate in horse riding this term. At Equitots we learn about how to look after horses, how to get them ready for riding and the best part is we get to have a go at riding Chico! We also have some time to play in on the swings and bounce on the trampoline. Here are some pictures of us taking part.
Today we had our last yoga session in room 6. Here are some of our favourite poses!
We really enjoy lying down and relaxing to the music and downward dog is definitely a big favourite.
As we wait on the impending snow, we have been thinking ahead in case the children cannot make it into school. If this is the case, I have suggested a few activities that the children can work at home to support their learning.
Reading – Class reading books or reading books from home that are at an appropriate level. Using these to do word hunts, predictions about what might happen next and linking to personal experience are great reading skills.
Below are some useful websites to practise literacy skills such as spelling.
Take some time working on the rmeasimaths programme to develop numeracy skills.
Our IDL context this term is our local area and where we live. This would be a perfect opportunity to get out in the snow and have a look around the local area to make links with our learning.
This term Room 6 and Room 2 have been working on gymnastics together. Below are some pictures of us practicing our jumping, rolling and balancing in the gym hall.
Room 6 have been lucky enough to participate in Yoga for the past 10 weeks. We have been working on our breathing through stories and yoga poses. We loved it!
Fine Motor Skills
We practise our fine motor skills every day in room 6 to develop our mark making and hand writing skills. Here are some pictures of us hard at work.
We have been very busy in Room 6 over the past few weeks. Have a look at us all hard at work!
Welcome To Room 6!
We hope you have all had a fantastic summer. What a busy first week we’ve had in Room 6 settling in to our new class. We have all been working so hard learning our new routines.
Our gym days will be a Tuesday and a Friday and we will join up with Room 2 for this time.
We have a very exciting term ahead and we look forward to sharing all of our hard work. Keep checking back for updates
